Played several times with the ship, lost only once in sector 2 when being boarded by team of 4... The ship has too much things - on the first shop you get, you can sell the missile launchers, one of the drones and the drone augment. Lots of free scrap that opens too much doors way too early. You can buy and upgrade the drone bay, but you can't use drones.

It has taken me several tries to beat the game with this ship on normal, the balance feels very much vanilla. The ship plays just as a Slug should :)
Didn't encounter any problems or graphical glitches during the plays, good job on that as well!
All in all - that's one more very good mod.

Repair skill is indeed a very good point.
While reading on the subject of Wookies (BTW, I'm not alone in assuming their heightened speed) I've stumbled on several instances of Klingon vs Wookiee, err... weaponless... (to avoid the pun). Nice read.

Not going to argue, haven't seen it for ages. Just the way I remembered it.
Still, as hard hitters that really shouldn't be immune to fire, Mantis fits better. :p

Played the mod several times, won each one of them on normal, so it's probably somewhat overpowered. It played very similar to the RedTail, tiny bit harder in early game due to longer charge on 4x barrage and on later game due to less weapon slots, but still kind of easy ship. The idea was used in the awesome conversion mod "Descent into darkness" and I remember seeing it in some more mods too.

Playing crew-less is fun against boarding Mantis' ships, with L3 doors and no O2 :)

I am not sure this will work, but I'd suggest after reinstalling FTL cleanly, D/L clean version of GMM. I think it has the DescentIntoDarkness mod integrated into his "clean" database. In addition, it might be worth to move the mods you don't want to use currently into different folder. Go...
