Re: Love the game, hate the random

You say that to reach 90% on Normal is impossible. Now, Easy, that's a whole different beast. Nevermind that Easy differs from Normal only in the amount of scrap gained, and, as Twinge had shown, it is not exactly scrap that wins you the game. Ignorance is bliss. Any one who has any experience play...

Re: Love the game, hate the random

Wow. Nevill. Almost not sure where to begin, there is just so much pure flat out wrong with what you've spewed forth there. OK, judging by the screen shots you have, the items you purchased, scrap left over and your ending comment "Because you get 350 scrap ON AVERAGE by the end of sector 2..&q...

Re: Love the game, hate the random

Stealth A's starting weapon loadout is better, no argument, but, a lot of first/second sector battles, it's not a question of if you'll take damage, but how much, and most importantly, where. Which is where luck/RNG comes in, in ways that it absolutely does not for ships that start with a shield. St...

Re: Love the game, hate the random

Objection! The Engi B is NOT the worst ship in the game! What are it's drawbacks? That you have to wait a few seconds longer to use the H Laser while the H Ion charges up? Meh, no biggie IMHO, especially early on when enemy ships only have one shield anyhow. Other drawback, the key one, is one crew ...

Re: Beat the ship, rebels advance?

Only event I can think of like that is the 'hack into the station' one, that gives you a chance to delay or advance the rebel fleet, but it requires a choice/extra click, so you'd know if you'd done that. Never seen the fleet advance faster without a reason either, so sorry, no answer!

Re: Cant get Basilisk out of sector 1

Zoltan ships and auto-assaults can be frustrating, until you get a weapon or two to take down shields and do some damage. As mentioned, a lvl 2 teleporter will allow your mantis's to jump in to an auto assault, deal damage and port back before expiring, levelling up as they go, before finishing off ...

Re: Pre-igniter vs Auto-loader

Of course you WANT an autoloader to go with your multiple BL2's, but you don't NEED one! You're pretty OP already, and adding an autoloader to that combo is just overkill. Autoloader makes every weapon and weapon loadout better...can't say the same for ignitor - early on, when you can one-shot or cr...

Re: Pre-igniter vs Auto-loader

Yeah, but, In a lot of battles, having the first volley makes next to no difference; you're not gonna do much damage - if any - to a ship with four shields, high evasion and a D Drone 2 just by getting the first round in (unless you're stacked with BL2's, and how often does that happen? And if you'r...

Re: Pre-igniter vs Auto-loader

Gimme an auto loader every time - it's the equivalent of a 15% increase in firepower, whereas the Pre-Igniter just lets you get the first "volley" away before the other ship - which is something that the autoloader and a levelled up gunner can do as well. After the first volley, the Ignite...
