You can use the Direct Link instead of the thumbnail preview, but images that are too large would not fit very well. If you want you can make a resized copy for the forum, but it's not really hard to click on the thumbnail and see the full sized image.

Only cheat that exists is the profile editor that locks/unlocks ships and achievements. There are also some ridiculously powerfull modships that make the game feel pretty casual, but most of the time the main draw of FTL is that it's unforgiving and cruel, yet there's a way to win or try a diffrent ...

Sadly the 503 errors have been quite frequent. kestreladmiral's advice may delay the problem for a while, but it's also a case of replacing one inconvenience with another.

While user specific profiles may work, there is still only one save, and it is deleted after loading. It's not possible to save multiple games in FTL. A playthrough ends in victory or defeat, the save&quit option is there to let you pause for interruptions or take a break.

You can jump back to a Repair Beacon in the Last Stand, but that is kinda situational. If the aug prevented the Rebels from advancing, then maybe it would have been better, but as is, it's not much. Still, worth some scrap at least.

Yup. Enemy combat drones also just shotdown when their controlling ship is destroyed. Thank you for reporting what you thought was a bug anyway. :)

Sometimes the beacon you're in is regenerated into something else, such as a nebula or in your case an ion pulsar. There are slight imperfections with the "save anywhere" feature, and sometimes you just get unlucky.
