Although i get what you are doing with the mod, i feel that this will make balance a bit unstable, and also the AI having weapons shoot simultaneously was always sort of....good...in my book. It was like they had a good captain for a change.

I think this is boring and a common game mechanic, turning unlocking ships into a grind. The more difficult method design-wise would be to make the quests for unlocking the ships more accessible.....if you know what to look for. Basically, the 'quest' system is good in principle, but it was too rand...

Could the FTL recharger not only effect combat, but also allow for two blue events in an empty beacon? the same way the Aug Power Generator allows for two combat augs....

Micromanagement of zoltans is one of the cons, free power that's immune to ion damage is a pro.
I don't mind having 2 shield bars that are immune to ion.
