Re: [Ship Pack] Gencool's Bizarre [v08]

Ha, I wondered if you'd ever see that. Sure, go for it, I think somebody else already has anyway. There may be a few bugs in the outcome (sylphs possibly being overlayed onto NPC humans), though, so be warned. Also, if you're interested, I have a variant Sylph sheet from my unreleased Crew'D update ...

Re: An art request for crew sprites

Really? It's been ages since I played with them, but I could've sworn that the sprites were put together first, then the whole lot reduced to 50%. In the end I just set the alpha of everything to 0 except for the sprites I wanted to use, which mostly got around the issue of sprites having different ...

Re: An art request for crew sprites

Note; The ghosts will still be at 50% transparency.

That article used the phrase "inspiration inception".
This is as bad as watergategate.
I need to lie down.

Re: Hurray! Another multiplayer clone project. :)

So, this is an odd thought, but I figure I'd throw it out there; How about having combat mirror the ship battle system? You click on a target and a window pops up, like a cross between V.A.T.S and pokemon. You can use different attacks and target different body parts, depending on the classes involv...

Re: Hurray! Another multiplayer clone project. :)

Well, since mob fights are next on the list, now would be the time to figure something out.

I honestly think the 8 directions method would be best, especially for shooting.
Melee could stick to 4 directions, and snap the sprites together somehow if they're within range.

Re: Hurray! Another multiplayer clone project. :)

Well, if you decide on a system, let me know- I can throw a few sprites together when I have some downtime. Can you do something for this? I can give it a go, but from a design view they're still a bit too close to FTL sprites for my liking (they're lovely but I'd rather make sprite sheets for them...

Re: Hurray! Another multiplayer clone project. :)

Ok, it got buried in words, but watch what happens I'm FTL when you walk through a room with enemy crew in it. This is the best solution. I.e. 8 directional sprites (u/d/l/r/ul/ur/dl/dr) Projectile fires in a straight line to target It's not visually perfect, but it fits the best of both worlds - fu...

Re: Hurray! Another multiplayer clone project. :)

Ha, no worries! I love coming up with stuff like this. I figured the point was to eventually turn this into a standalone game? Also, I actually based the ideas on the suggestions from the first post (they didn't seem fleshed out yet) They're written with playable races in mind, so I appreciate that ...
