Re: Steamworks: Steam Cloud

Save on Exit is pretty standard for roguelikes. Moria, Angband, DCSS, etc...

If you could save normally, you can "save scum" your way to victory.

Re: [Suggestion] Char dump / flight recorder / morgue

Very flavorful, I love the old school terminal log feel of it. The Final Transmission. May day, may day!

Re: [Suggestion] Hacking

Thumbs up Justin, psyched that we're brainwavin'. I see your point re: similarity to ion cannons. More blasty blasty type things are better than fiddly things like hacking.

Re: [Suggestion] Char dump / flight recorder / morgue

That's a great compromise and I'd be totally happy with that. I think players could tell most of what they need to know from the final fight. For brevity's sake, +1 to that!

Re: [Suggestion] Hacking

I hadn't considered what teleported crewmembers could do if there are no enemies to fight in a given room. How interesting! Anyway, I think y'all are right, the game has enough mechanics that adding one more could be the proverbial straw (or heavy-handed sci fi concept) that breaks the camel's back.

[Suggestion] Char dump / flight recorder / morgue

IDEA: Much like commercial airliners' black boxes, let's have an FTL flight recorder so we can send our greatest missions (and most epic failures) to our friends and confused family members. Different than a save game feature, this is a read-only record of your exploits. Many roguelikes have a morgu...

Re: [Suggestion] Multiplayer Skirmishes!

-1 Singleplayer roguelikes are already innately multiplayer in that you want to share your crazy unique story with others online. If anything it would be nice to have a char dump so someone can go and replay their misadventures or send them to friends. But multiplayer? Not for this game. Maybe next ...

[Suggestion] Hacking

Not sure whether this would work better from a subsystem or drone POV (why not both?) 1. You could hack enemy subsystems. Hack any subsystem with a much higher chance of success if the station is unmanned. Manned subsystems take much longer to hack. 2. Once a station is hacked, it is rendered inoper...
