Addendum: I'm not saying that I want the boss fight to be "fairer" or "easier". Rather, that I'd like other tactics to (potentially) be viable. Even if a dynamic system wouldn't be possible, selecting from one of several boss types would prevent a "best path" solution. ...

I'm strongy opposed to this: part of the strategy of the game is making sure you're prepared before you jump. With no threats remaining, you can be impatient and jump before cloak is ready, or your shields are back up. This adds to the "hah, I'm an idiot" factor, and since the solution is ...
