You are right that it is a hard ship to play. There will be many moments in the early game where the enemy gets to take a shot at you before you kill them. I have an old laptop with integrated graphics (probably comparable to modern netbooks), and while it runs well, it does sometimes crash, which obviously sucks (because there's no save).

Yes, as the others suggest, a teleporter is immediately useful as you can dance crew to avoid damage. The extra crew you get will rapidly let you keep everything manned. The second level of it isn't necessary most of the time - instead of teleporting the initial crew back, healing and then back agai...

Yeah I agree that using airlocks to fight intruders more would be much cooler. And I like the idea of enemy ships doing it to you.

Definitely the red tail. It's got great weapons, great crew, and no real weaknesses. It's almost like putting the game on easy :)

Thanks for the replies guys :) With regard to the medbay shutting down, I'm just thinking of a way to make boarding better. Maybe a more subtle change would work - like reducing the rate of healing - so a determined hit squad can finish off injured crew who run there, but not take on full health cre...
