This would nice, but instead of F1...F8, make the weapons qwerty and the crew 1-8 instead. It's far to uncomfortable pressing the function keys. And if possible give us the option to assign numbers to groups of crew instead of just arbitrarily giving them numbers. Think Starcraft or most modern RTSs.

With no ongoing fire or similar hazards one should just have the ship auto-repair (possibly put it as an option in the menu).
