Re: Anyone do a little roleplay in their games?
Does naming your ship and crew after ships and crews from other sci-fi stories (for example, FSV Daedalus, crewed by Hermiod (the engineer), Caldwell (the pilot), Teyla (shields/weaps, can't remember which), and Ronon (weaps/shields, can't remember which)) count? Or is that just having a fancy namin...

Re: Names for various ships
For me, I just put on an FSV (standing for Federation Space Vehicle) at the front, and then stare at the screen for a few minutes before thinking of an amazing name (mostly inspired by Stargate). Occasionally, I'll spend school time thinking up names for when I next need to create a new ship. I've g...

Re: How do you beat the Rebel Flagship?
I kitted out my Kestrel Type B (called FSV Apollo) with a Soul Shot (does normal and ion damage; from Weaponanza mod), a Bust Laser Mk II, keeping the other two Basic Lasers, and maxed out my cloaking system. I also had the fortune of getting Stealth Weapons and Automatic Re-Loader. Only took two po...

Re: My drones keep dying!!
Any projectiles that impact a drone will destroy the drone. The enemy has been getting very lucky in this case. And for the record, yes, the Def. Drone Mk II is kind of crap. I refuse to use them. Too much power wastage for what I want to do, which is protect against missiles. If it shot down missil...

Re: Those Darn Solar Flares
What the above poster means to say is 'vent all rooms without personnel in them the moment you see a sun, or a teleporter, and cram everyone that's not operating a system into medbay'. Sound advice!

Re: Suggested New Achievements
"Sounds like a Suicide Mission" Teleport one crew member onto a ship full of Mantises. "I am a leaf on the wind" Have your pilot get killed by a missile to the cockpit. "Use the Force, Luke..." Use a Slug crew member to discern the location of enemy personnel in a nebu...

Re: Engis and Oxygen
-snip about Oxygen stuff- I distinctly remember a planet where the atmosphere was 90-something percent oxygenated, which apparently made people that breathed its atmosphere feel better and more energetic and stuff. But the downside is the insects there are fucking massive, and lightning storms are ...

Re: Engis and Oxygen
Expanding on the original post, I'm wondering why the Engi (and all the other types of crew) aren't vulnerable to hyperoxia, considering that they're exposed to nearly 100% oxygen for the duration they're on a ship... Not to mention that an oxygen rich environment is bound to be begging for fires t...

I was kind of meaning in-universe reasons, not gameplay-wise. I think we were all thinking that, too.
