Red Earth speaks wisely. When faced with a choice of buying a system upgrade versus one or two extra power in the main reactor, it is usually a good idea to upgrade a system even if it cannot be powered outright. Gives you more room to juggle power distribution and meet particular demands. Of course...

Good work, TAz! I suggest you fix those files, test them out, and send them to the developers. Since you've already done most of the heavy lifting, it would be nice not to make them do it all over again :)

Additional strategy-ish hints: - if flying through Mantis space, invest in third level doors and suffocate the buggers as they board: make a no-air pathway to the room where they are *and* immediately open up everything on the other side of the ship, but leave one door closed between the two no-air ...

I've just won the game with Zoltan Cruiser A after ~10 failed attempts. The main strategy seems to be relying on your Zoltan Shield to buy you some time while your powerful beam weapon is charging. It can cut through level 1 shields; use it to disable enemy weapons systems. Once level 2 shields star...

Personally, I would love to see the Android version, if only a text-based game, as that would give me something to do during the 2h+ meetings at work. :) But I am more excited about the possibilities for expansions or even FTL 2.

I would say that it isn't about the devs "having their hands full". They have released a highly polished product, with only some very minor bugs still visible in 1.01 (e.g. when renaming a crew member, edit box can overflow for really long names such as 'wwwwwwwwwwww' -- that kind of stuff...
