Re: List of things people don't like [From Reddit thread]

I have to say, I pretty much agree with all the major points. I've a veteran of roguelikes; Nethack, Prospector, UnrealWorld, whatever else catches my eye. I love the genre, and I have to say I agree with all these points. To me, a Roguelike is about exploring and discovery. I want to get attached t...

Re: First toughts on FTL (I'm not pew pewing anyone)

This was quite recent. Lvl2 doors. They teleported into 3 different rooms, one of them being door control, the other shields. It's absurd to think that there is no prevention or recourse to defend yourself against it. Immediately losing systems to it, you have no defense. That happens to me lots of...

Re: FTL, how did it gain so much publicity?

Saw it on sale on Steam, so it popped up in the "Specials".

Re: Future Sandbox mode?

Yes indeed. Some more exploration without time pressure would be great. I guess, getting these game mechanics a little closer to a mix of Master of Orion and Elite game style is an excellent idea. Thats something the market is still waiting for. See, that's what I'm thinking. Kinda like Elite, or X...

Re: First toughts on FTL (I'm not pew pewing anyone)

If you never upgrade your doors then it does become an issue since you can wittle them down by opening airlocks and suffocating them. The next best thing you can do is shack up in your med bay and hope they walk in and fight to the death. Certain weapons like bombs that you can use to target your o...

Re: Future Sandbox mode?

I was personally thinking more along the lines of different game/campaign modes instead of adding to the current one. Maybe something inspired by the Silent Hunter series where you go out on patrol behind enemy lines to destroy enemy ship traffic for awhile then return to base, include some random ...

Re: First toughts on FTL (I'm not pew pewing anyone)

⋅  Hull Repair is impossible in any way except in shops and some drones ⋅  Once your shields are gone, your ship will die way too quick. Seems like you receive damage like super fast (could be me ???) ⋅  The welcome party (boarding enemies) are cool but how come I can ...

Re: Future Sandbox mode?

Honestly, it wouldn't be too bad. New "boss-like" encounters might be pretty good. The real point is, instead of the linear progression we see in the main game, we'd get a large jump map, and more difficult enemies showed up further away from the origin sector. Really, I think it could end...
