FTL for Steam for Linux

So, the Steam for Linux beta just started, and I'm one of the lucky few to get in. :D
I was a tad disappointed to see the Linux version of FTL isn't available via Steam yet (many other cross platform titles already are). Any idea when that might happen?

It also works fine with open source Intel drivers.

Re: ftl ubuntu crash

Files and folders which begin with . are hidden. To view them, open Nautilus (that's the file explorer in Ubuntu) and press Ctrl+H.

Re: Support for netbook resolution

Version 1.02.5 should already work with resolutions below 1280x720 if you use the "Fullscreen - Stretch" option.

Re: Will not run, linux user...

Yeah, that really doesn't look too promising. IIRC AMD has dropped support for that card in the propriatary driver, so I'm afraid you're stuck with the open source one. Like icepick I have also heard some unflattering things about that driver. I haven't used AMD/ATi myself in many years, so I have n...

Re: Will not run, linux user...

Open a terminal emulator, navigate to the root of the FTL folder and run this command:

Code: Select all

./FTL

Post output here.

Re: Purchased on steam, how to install on linux

If you want the Linux version via Steam, you'll have to wait until Steam is released for Linux (assuming Subset adds the Linux version to Steam, which I expect they will), which will probably happen sometime between now and February 2013. In the meantime you could always try it in Wine.

As for V-Sync, where do I set that option? I don't see anything in the in-game options.

Thanks!

It's possible to force your graphics driver to v-sync the game in Linux. Here is a howto I wrote on that.
