Re: This game needs mortems.

I'd like to see it as well, if only so people can use them for YASD/whatev posts.

Re: C'mon, buff the Stealth Ships.

Titanium Systems Casing is a joke. The only worth it has is the 50 scrap it sells for to reduce the cost of obtaining shields. With Rock Plating, 15% chance is fine because hull damage comes fast, but individually the damage doesn't cripple your ship, not to mention it has tons of blue options. Tita...

Re: [Suggestion] Better Crew Customization

Yeah I'd like to see alternate sprites for the other races. Thing is, they'd have to strike a balance between looking distinct enough for customization while also being easy enough to tell players at a glance "okay that's an Engi".

Re: How do you like to build the slug cruiser?

Figure I'll ask here rather than making another thread. Why would anyone play the Slug B ship if they have any other boarding option available? Sure, you start with Healing Burst, but it combines the missile reliance of Rock A with a lack of a medbay, and Slugs don't make very good boarders? I guess...

Re: Redtail (kestrel B) is by far the best ship

Red-Tail makes the early game easier at the expense of the late game being harder, which really isn't the way you want to go.

Re: FTL suffers for having a final boss

Yeah, I know that killing the entire enemy crew save for one during the first phase, where there's relatively little nonsense to deal with, can make the second and third phases a cakewalk.

That doesn't make it any better designed. It just means the best strategy is a tedious loophole.

Re: FTL suffers for having a final boss

I had another massive multi-paragraph post ready, but UltraMantis summed it up more elegantly than I could. In all seriousness, the best way to understand my point is to play another roguelike all the way to the endgame, one where there is no final boss. Brogue is probably one of the better options,...

Re: FTL suffers for having a final boss

FTL taking a shorter time to play through does not excuse the final boss being as brutal or rule-breaking as it is. You still have eight full sectors to blow through, each with at least three or so encounters (unless you're lucky or speeding through, neither of which is really an option). Hell, even...

FTL suffers for having a final boss

So, I've had this game since shortly after its release. Played it a ton, just gifted it to a friend of mine, it's good fun all around. It does a very good job of capturing that space opera feel without putting too much emphasis on the laser-firing battle that most other games of this ilk build aroun...
