Same here when I tried stretch, using ATI 6950.

I think it's because it's changing the resolution and refresh rate. I'm using a widescreen CRT, and when it stretches it shifts left and changes the refresh rate. I can center it just fine after that, but the refresh rate is 60hz, which on an LCD might not be so bad, but on my CRT it's really flickery and headache inducing.

I don't know if it works for an LCD (I'm using widescreen CRT), but here's what's worked for me.

When loading 'fullscreen stretch,' the game loaded left of center. I was able to use the monitor settings buttons to move the screen to the right. It's not a resolution i've used before (1280x720), so it wasn't saved in my monitor settings.

For CRT users (the few, the proud) the only problem for me is that it had a low 60hz refresh, as I alluded to in my first post. So I downloaded powerstrip, a program which allows me to force a refresh rate above 60hz (if any of you still using CRTs.... this isn't an option for LCDs) and the game works fine now at 85hz.
