Has anyone ever made it run on Mac? Finding the initial "data.dat" for the program seems impossible, as it is within the package contents for the game client. It is not possible to open package contents for the initial launch of the program; The program does not let you target a copy of the file in the wrong location.

Please advise

My problem has been cleared up: user error was the culprit. Thanks!

Having an issue when I try to open my data.dat file. When I'm prompted to locate it, I click "open" and get this error message. "Error unpacking FTL data files: null". Any ideas what is wrong?

For all mac users. If you are running the DRM free standalone app, do this.

1. Navigate to within the app (Right-click app, show package contents)
2. Navigate to Content/Resources
3. Right click the resources folder, and create an alias
4. Drag said alias to an accessible location on your computer (Aka. Desktop)
5. When running the Profile editor, navigate to the .dat using the Alias
6. Profit.

pladz - this option doesn't appear to work for me. I've got the DRM free edition and have tried several methods:

1. as described above, creating alias to Desktop; I'm able to navigate to the resources folder and click on the data.dat file but get the "FTL data not found" error.
2. create a link to just the data.dat file. Same error.
3. Manually copy data.dat and resource.dat file to the desktop. Same error.
4. Manually copy the resources folder to the desktop. Same error.

Any thoughts? Cheers.

Tbh, another way is to directly find the path to the file.
Once you use "get-info" aka Command I, it should display the file path.
Using that file path, make a folder with these files.

ftl-editor.cfg

#FTL Profile Editor - Config File
ftlPath=*insert file path here*

ftl-profile-editor.log (optional)

and the .jar file

I have tried a couple of versions (including the latest one) but when I open my save it gives me the error:

Error reading profile: null

If I change anything or save my profile after that, the game doesn't load anymore.

Nice app, used it to sync up my achievements that i had unlocked on different computers before it occured to me to move the profile around. Any chance of making deleting highscores possibly in an upcoming version?

I have released v10. Kudos to Vhati for doing most of the work on this update.

If you've been having problems please update and try again. If you still have trouble, please paste the contents of ftl-profile-editor.log into a new issue here.
