Hmm, these are some interesting suggestions, but:

These changes would stray way-too far away from the original game; the game has already been finished, and changing it now would negatively impact the remaining community. For instance, battleships having 4 augmentation slots, 6 cargo slots, and 11 crew cap would basically be worthless, 4 aug slots could be decent, but 6 cargo slots are next to useless since most of the time you won't have more than ~2 drones/weapons in the cargo bay, and 11 crew would also be pretty much useless, there are literally less than 11 systems that can be manned; even for boarders 11 crew members are overboard unless the enemies are capable of wielding extremely large teleporters.

...but you'll want beam weapons or drones in order to reliably defeat ALL interceptors.
Having to only use a specific-type of weapon for only one specific type of ship is terrible, because than it would make players simply ditch lasers and missiles for ion-bombs, ion weapons, and beam weaponry.

Battleships, as described by you, would basically be severely OP compared to interceptors, where even with "10+ accuracy" and better evasion, it simply cannot compare the battleships 8 total weapon slots, ability to upgrade systems to level 10 (compared to interceptors measly 6) 6 more reactor bars that are able to be purchased (compared to interceptor's 5 less). Speaking of which, 8 weapon slots would be ludicrous, you literally could just power up 5 Burst Laser II's, and other extremely OP weapon combos. (Also, despite the interceptors ability to charge it's FTL faster it would be basically useless because in FTL, 3/4 of the time you won't be running--but also "weak weaponry may prevent it from being able to pierce the opponent's defenses," setting a handicap to an entire set of ship is simply bad--which means that battleships are still superior.) Also, "...an interceptor with...can max out its evasion at 89%," but why would you want it to have 89% evasion? You would basically have an infinite-cloak--but without a cloak system.

Adding accuracy to FTL would basically make the entire game unbalanced, with RNG dominating players even further; and would also make all weapons pseudo-flaks--minus the good parts of a flak weapon.

Not useless, just not likely to get fully used by the end of a game. I frequently hit upon some of my cruiser's maximums, but generally not all of them. The battleship just has more room to grow.

No they wouldn't. A lot of players will just spend extra time shooting at the interceptor opponents until they hit enough shots. Most interceptor opponents won't be very difficult, certainly won't be much of a threat if you're playing with a battleship, and the few you do run from won't make much of a dent in your income. No weapon type is best; every type has advantages and drawbacks. The advantage I gave to beam weapons comes with a hefty drawback: tons of the damage it deals will fail to knock a system out. Beams are better for shield piercing and hull damage; they suck for trying to take out systems unless you're using a glaive beam, but that thing destroys ships just as fast as it takes out systems. So lasers are really REALLY ideal for taking systems down. Nobody is going to feel that beams are the only way to go, because they're far from it.

Why would the battleship be OP? Just having a lot of slots to work with doesn't mean you get more stuff to fill them with. The battleship would need more scrap income to compete, as its reduced accuracy would make it important to have more weapons in order to score hits better, and its reduced evasion would prompt for more upgrades in engines and shields.

It would be nice to power up five Burst Laser IIs, but you aren't likely to find that many in one game. I don't see how it's a problem, you can put 4 Burst Laser IIs on a cruiser, that's obscenely powerful but it's not overpowered because you'll probably not find that weapon arrangement, and besides, you have to pay a lot of scrap to fully upgrade the weapons system to hold 8 power bars. Upgrading battleship weapons to 10 is even more expensive!

Upgrading interceptors is cheap, however. They get high evasion from the start, and it grows faster. They don't need to beat even most enemies. They might be able to get by on just the scrap you get outside of combat. Their weapons hit easily, but if they can't fill up with powerful enough weapons, they might have trouble cracking the defenses on the tougher opponents. Their ability to flee makes it easy to get by without beating all opponents, and their lower scrap income balances with their lower scrap needs. However in serious play, you'll want to grab as much scrap as possible because you'll want the best weapons in order to beat the flagship. Playing interceptor wouldn't be very hard through most of the game, but beating the flagship might be especially challenging.

Speaking of beating the flagship, it's not as simple as it being harder for the interceptor or easier for the battleship. On the contrary, while the battleship would have the upper hand in brute-forcing through its defenses, it would also struggle to survive the onslaught. The cruiser and especially interceptor could potentially survive much better against the flagship's weapons. The struggle with the interceptor would be in trying to carve through its tough defenses.

The point of the interceptor is to be highly evasive. You seem to be switching back and forth between one trait making the interceptor underpowered, and another making it overpowered. Where do you stand on this? Is it underpowered or overpowered?

Accuracy is already in the game, what are you talking about? Are you talking about the accuracy ship system I wanted to add? (Did I even mention that?) The targeting computer system I want to add would actually balance the game a lot and reduce that RNG garbage. There is a problem in the game in which your own ship and opponents gain higher evasion throughout the game, but accuracy remains the same--meaning it effectively gets lower. By the end you can have 55% dodge chance, and some opponents have at least that much. It gets to the point where a Burst Laser III can't penetrate three shield bubbles. My targeting computer subsystem would add an optional way to get past evasion creep, by allowing you +5% accuracy per upgrade bar (up to +15%), and adding another +3-10% for having it crewed. If you're in a cruiser and your opponent has 55% evasion, with perfect targeting bonus you have a base hit chance of 70%. Their engine bonus is still useful, but no longer crippling to you. If you're in a battleship and your opponent has 89% evasion and you have perfect targeting, you have a base 26% chance to hit. Low, but not so low you can't beat them.
