Frozen Titans Trick Shot & Explosive Vek

I am trying to earn all the achievements across all teams, and have been having a rough time at the second one for the Frozen Titans (they never seem to line up in 3s haha).
However, I finally saw my chance when i was able to kill 2 vek with 1 shot, one of them being adjacent to a 3rd vek and with a Psion that granted them explosive deaths, but
after all 3 vek dying in one movement (one shot) the achievement remained locked. While it makes sense why this might not work, I think that that should not be the case,
and that having 3 vek die without another character acting in between deaths should work.

The explosions occur after the shot is done, so aren't part of the shot. bumping and drowning and falling occur during the shot's damage output, so ARE considered part of the shot.

I agree though that it'd be nice.
