Rift Walkers were difficult for me

Hello,
I beat the game (four islands) the hard way with most of the Squad.
But the Rift Walkers are really making it hard for me.
Can you give me some advice?
I'm particularly bad at positioning my mech at the start of the match. I just want not to be tied down by vek and put my cannon in the box with good move options.
