why not save the shipstate after a bossfight for Multiplayer

Postby Reaper2507 » Tue Oct 29, 2013 7:56 am

Hello,

i would like to present this simple idee for FTL

Save the Shipstaate after the Bossfight for Multiplayer purposes.
Every Player needs a ship that managed to killed the boss and this ship can fight a other ship that did the same.
If the Ship gets destroyed its done. Savegames could be serverbased to prevent cheating. Than make a Topscore list..

i would actually love that... ^^

There will be no more features in this game, and therefore, no multiplayer, nor co-op, nor PvP.

I don't know how interesting it would actually be. It seems like playing against a human opponent would be very different from playing the computer. For instance humans will target your systems and sync up their weapon fire. Humans will vent their ship and force you to fight in the medbay with boarders. It just seems like a lot of the strategies you use would have to change. Plus the ships are not well balanced. I think most people will end up with some of the more powerful ships completely upgraded and it will just be silly. A maxed out ship with a weapon pre-igniter, two automated reloaders, maxed weapons specialist, a couple burst laser mk II's and a glaive beam will just make battles silly.
