The real problem was that the flagship spawned a much larger than normal number of laser drones. I was dead in 2 surges no matter what.

Well, a cloak would have helped for sure. Or jumping away. I should have jumped away, but a charge laser wouldn't have stopped the drones from tearing my ship apart.

Maybe it doesn't save you, but I was thinking you could do some damage with Laser Charger + Glaive Beam.

Also I was very surprised you didn't get L2 O2.

So was I! It was a brain fart for sure, and I realized it right when it became too late to do anything about it.

Normally I find it amusing when you make a mistake here and there, but after the last episode, I haz a sad.

Perhaps you should give up on Easy, or at least put a camera on yourself showing the blindfold you're wearing.

But no, I really think I've just been in a funk. I'm almost through all the ships now so things should get better when I start playing mods.

As I watch Season 5 featuring Captain's Edition, I notice that your Slipstream Mod Manager is not up to date. edit: Evidence

Despite the mistakes you are making, you seem to be making it pretty far for playing on Hard. I think that last battle of sector 5 on episode 4 was a very costly mistake. Your engines were fully charged and ready to jump when you had 17 hull. You lost 15 hull points all for 1 piece of fuel.

You also seem to be quite lucky with all of the unauthorized pirating that you are doing. When I've watched other people play and attempt that, their crew usually either refuses to act or they have a deserter.

Really? I'll update it asap, though I thought I did so right before installing CE. Maybe I downloaded it but didn't install it.

Yeah I couldn't figure out why I didn't jump away from that one either. My only assumption is that I don't have the stamina to play for 3 hours. I'm so used, by the end of hour 2, to be already beating the flagship. I think I'm like a pitcher that's in the triple digit pitches, that the manager won't pull for some reason.
