The Phosphor sounded promising, since the Glaive is a power-hungry weapon that requires a constant investment to run properly. But I ended up quite disappointed; 16 power is not "limited reactor power". Not to mention the maxed systems. Sure, you can't power your maxed systems fully, but starting with 16 reactor is already quite an advantage, and buying reactor power bars is far cheaper than buying system levels. The Cerenkov (Zoltan Type C) is far more like a "limited reactor" challenge ship, with 2 reactor powers and 4 Zoltan for a measly 6 power.

Also, that artillery is pretty tacky. If you're going to use boss artillery missiles, then that's fine. But you can mount that weapon on the ship, you know.

The Chromeshift is even less of a challenge... I can't actually tell what the challenge is.

Be ready for a challenge cuz its missile time!!

Is the challenge that it's supposed to be a missile-reliant ship? Then including 100 missiles and the boss artillery (which doesn't actually consume ammo, as I recall) is hardly the way to do so. Is the challenge supposed to be no doors? Although, by your own admission:

The catch, no doors!

Is the challenge supposed to be having no doors? The Rock B did something similar, with no doors/airlocks to put out fires. But since the Chromeshift has no oxygen, then fires aren't going to be a problem anyway--not to mention making boarding attempts easier to defend, even with no doors to corral boarders.

But then again, by your own admission:
but four boss missiles and one barrage of flak... ON TOP OF MIND CONTROL AND CLOAKING.... might as well be an instant win.

So I suppose if being overpowered is the intent, then, you sure as hell did it. But then you can't really call it a challenge ship then, can you?

The Maelstrom's not a challenge and you said so yourself. Fine.

I should probably say that people around here don't like overpowered ships too much. But it's another thing entirely to advertise a thread as "challenge ships" and then include overpowered ships instead...

Ay, note taken. also with the Maelstrom, the thing is I had a very challenging form of it starting with absolutely no reactor and a very poor self defense system, but the file got lost and the ship pretty much fell apart in the launcher, as you can tell when ordering your crew around. also the forum post had reset a bunch of times. I understand the whole thing with the second ship and appreciate the help. I will release mods that are balanced if not underpowered.

Uh, you put all three ship downloads as the Phospher. Can't use any other of the ships.
