if you have the steam version then you may need to delete the backups then verify the game cache it may re-download if it does try to install mods afterwards because the rapid.xml crash is normally to do with game update as when my game updated deleting the .bak files didn't work as installing Vanilla ftl would load captain's edition then crash with a very similar if not the same error

I have the Steam version. 1.5.10

I deleted the game, and then went to the installation folder, and deleted the entire FTL folder from my hard drive. Then redownloaded the game and all the mods and Slipstream.

Still the same problem as before. Everything was a fresh start.
EL 0.96 had no problems with Steam version 1.5.10.

I have verified the game cache, and switched the update download to ASAP. Restarted Steam and verified the game cache once more. Then I did a fresh Slipstream and mods install again.

Nothing is working. It's a shame, because I don't have an old version of EL 0.96 to keep playing, while we wait.

I believe it may have something to do with EL being developed for 1.5.4(the previous update) as earlier versions work

I also noticed that if I run the updated stuff CE(1.207), CEI(1.207) and all the other stuff along with version 0.92 El it still crashes on start-up.

I sold the Light Defense Drone II (the one that comes with the Mantis B type) and bought a standard Defense Drone II.
Now i have to find out that this drone can't intercept swarm missiles! It just ignores them! The Light Defense Drone II (which is supposed to be slightly worse then the Defense Drone II?) DOES intercept swarm missiles.

1. Is it the same crash as before?
2. Are you patching 1.207 or 1.207b? The former caused problems.

Hey Still can't PM like you said but im the one who made the pictures of the type C engi, zoltan, and slug ships i did gibs for engi and slug so if you still want them just give me a way to get them to you and ill send them over.

fine, but at least lower the rarity or add a blue option to the event so i don't lose my sodding crew member...

There is a blue option for this event... Maybe you have the wrong crew members?
Think of all the races that come to your mind which could be helpful in this case...
