Re: Early purchase for those that missed Kickstart?

There will certainly be a way to pre-order the game as we get closer to release; if only through Steam's normal method of pre-order sales. However, I can't guarantee we'll take your money to let you into the beta. We had initially planned for it to be restricted to the kickstarter backers, so I'm no...

DOTA 2 Keys

Hey guys. I have a number of DOTA 2 Keys from my meeting with Valve back at GDC and I haven't done anything with them. They're just sitting there. So just in case any of you are interested, here are a few keys (first come first serve). All you have to do is add it to your Steam games. EDIT - I think...

Re: Free indie games you shouldn't miss

You're right about DF. It's simply incredible. I'm just wary about suggesting it to people cause its CLEARLY not for everyone. I'll have to check out cataclysm when I have a ton of free time. Probably has a high barrier to entry, no?

Re: Suggestion: Armory

You know, part of the reason I like working on FTL so much (and part of the reason it's so scary) is that there are so many directions we can take the game. It's almost limitless. A version of this armory idea was on the table already and has been filed away as "maybe would work" (along wi...

Re: Xenonauts

I missed out on Xcom the first time around, so I don't know how much alike they are, but Xenonauts IS a good game. Man. The first time I played XCom was in college in 2006. Playing it with 320x240 resolution (?) on my fancy computer... and it was still the first game in forever that made my whole b...

Re: Steam Achievements (PC version)

Dhese Defense Drones Don't Do D'anything! Destroy an enemy ship using a defense drone by only using missile weaponry. Astronomically painful odds With engine upgrades completely maxed out, fail to evade X shots in a row. Could have timed that better... Fire a weapon and have it blocked by one of yo...

Re: DoomRL

It's not as randomized as I would have liked, but I did put a number of hours into this game. Quite fun. It made me want to make a "doom FPS roguelike". Like lying-in-bed-designing-all-of-the-weapons-kinda "want". No time, no time...

Free indie games you shouldn't miss

EDIT: I'm just going to make this a sticky and start adding everyone else's suggestions to the list. Keep in mind, only free games & mostly complete. There's another great roguelike post, so no roguelikes here. Hey guys. I do a lot of research on indie games and there are a number of free games...

Re: Subset Games Logo

What a cool thread. When we were picking the name I never actually made the connection with "sub" = submarine. We were thinking more about the programming/math term for subset. Plus sandwiches. Because sandwiches are awesome.
