Yes, I completely agree with this. I looked into doing this with an overhaul once, and even began to code some of it. Not fun. Really not fun.

Go either way man. I am still working on some ship layouts, and there is more to come, but hey. The mod is still good to dl now. I recommend getting the stable build. The unstable ones tend to have large game breaking bugs.

Leme explain to you what the devs told me.

You cannot distribute the .exe file, or game files. You CAN make a deployable that patches them into the game for you. At one point I did try to decompile the source into C (didn't really work), but it can be done.

Actually you can edit the flagship dramatically. I figured out how to do it in the past. You can't change the weapons, but you can change other things.
