Re: Favorite way to win a battle?
It's probably because they're too busy getting hacked to pieces to operate the com. I love that that Piloting is considered manned as long as someone is in the room. It implies the captain is grabbing on to the controls with one hand, desperately dodging away incoming missiels and lasers, while fen...

Combustion, too. It should be noted that preciion-killing is considerably easier in the first sectors now that Sensors can be manned. Whenever you are invulnerable to the enemy's weaponry, "Heavy" weapons have a good chance of achieving this, and ocassionally, any laser. Medbay hacking - I...

Re: Favorite sector
You can get information on beacon and event distribution from the game files. Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm still not sure what the answer is - it seems Zoltan Sectors do have on average more Nebula Becaons than Hostile Sectors (2-6 vs. 0-5), but not necessarily more than other Civllian Sectors (0-8 -...

Also add fire, and flames. Burning, too. I do like some of the unusual ways to kill crew opened up by AE: having their ship's Anti-Personnel Drone execute their mind-controlled crew. Using multiple Ion Stunners to lock crew in the Shields room while the Life Support has been destroyed. Good times. F...

We may be both deluding ourselves, but this is my impression as well. Perhaps we can organize a group test?

Re: Are stores making the game too luck dependent?
Rock A should be exempt from this discussion, since it has a uniquely unviable initial loadout. Everything else (even Engi B) can get extra mileage from its starting weaponry with assistance from drones or hacking (the latter being the more powerful option by far, and complements any equipment or st...

Re: They've now made the game too hard
A feauture is game breaking when it is supposedly to majorly screw you over whether you go about it one way or another. You go at it safely, you miss scrap, you miss upgrades/weapon, eventually you lose due to a poorly upgraded ship. You risk for the scrap and you get caught by the fleet for severa...

Re: I only just noticed this
Haha :) Though as someone whose name ends with an "s", I know that that would actually still be "Rebels' Flagship" Well, not sure what you'd take as authoritative, but: http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/grammar/learnit/learnitv57.shtml http://grammar.ccc.commnet....

Re: I only just noticed this
If "Rebel" is a singular noun and it owns the flagship, it should be "Rebel's Flagship." This is what it says, but it does sound wrong. If "Rebels" is a plural noun and they own the flagship, it should be "Rebels' Flagship." This is one of the two valid ways ...
